Disc Bulge or Slipped Disc

Slipped disc’s, disc bulge or a herniated disc are all terms for one of the most painful conditions effecting the low back. Fortunately, Chiropractic can have great results in aiding your recovery.

If you (or someone you know) have ever suffered from a disc bulge, you will know how debilitating this condition can be. The onset of pain is typically from lifting with poor back support but it can by caused by something as trivial as bending over to pick up a tissue! I have seen several people pop a disc from sneezing.

The leading cause of disc bulges is long term poor posture. When we don’t stand or sit correctly the muscles that support our spine switch off, this places extra strain on your disc and joints. Sitting puts 140Kg of force on your discs and slouching adds a significant amount to that figure, over time this weakens your back.

Poor posture over time creates micro tears in your discs, which over time weakens your discs making them prone to injury. Chiropractic therapy is highly effective at improving posture and at helping to reduce the pain caused by a slipped disc. We have helped many people over the years with this condition.
